Ok....SOMEONE is voting for Batman. It may be Phoenix playing a joke, but if not someone seriously needs help. I'm dictating a conversation I had with one of my friends concerning Spiderman/Batman. I'll refer to myself as Flamestar, and him as...uh...hmmm....Batmanlover.

"Flamestar, Batman is seriously awesome!"
"Oh really? Would you mind answering a couple questions about each then?"
"Sure."
Flamestar leans on table nonchalantly. "So...Batman's villans. Let's discuss them. Where did Catwoman come from, and why did she decide to be a criminal?"
Batmanlover's eyes search the ceiling. "I dunno."
"Ok. Where did Penguin come from, and how does he shoot gas from his umbrella?"
"I dunno."
"Where did Mr. Freeze come from?"
"He was in the North Pole or something...I dunno."
"Fine. So how about Spiderman's criminals? Where did the Green Goblin come from?"
"He put himself in the gas chamber and the untested experiment made him go insane." Batmanlover replys promptly.
"Right. Where did Doctor Oct come from?"
"Uh...his tridium project mal-funtioned and the inhibitor chip took over his brain."
"Uh-huh. See my POINT yet? We have backrounds on Spiderman and his criminals. We know nothing about Batman's criminals, and as for Batman himself, all we know is that his parents were gunned down and he vowed revenge."
".....Ok."
"His tri

  1. Whoops, I accidentally typed some extra keys at the bottom. The thing ends when Batmanlover says OK.

  2. Umm...I think you can find out about Batman's villains' origins in the Batman comics...right?

P.S. I am the one voting for Batman (second highest grossing U.S. movie of all time, thank you very much).

  3. Oh, by the way: you say that Batman's enemies are unexplainable, and Spider-Man's are? Well what about the superheroes themselves?

Experts say that, with a lot of money and a giant stash of high tech equipment, one could theoretically become a real Batman! Of course, this would take strength and agility of Olympic proportions, but ahem...human spider? Web shooters? Wall climbing? Talk about inexplainable!

  4. So YOU"RE the one. I see. Yes, the Batman movie soared up in the box offices, and yes, it isn't possible for some random kid to become a Spiderman. But that is the same arguement my friend uses, that Batman is more of a superhero you can reach, and do you know what I counter it with?

Ok, forgive me if I'm completely out of line, but AT LEAST in the old Batman movies...HE NEVER MAKES ANY MISTAKES!!! He's perfect! He can't mess up. Moreover, in the Spiderman movies, he is constantly making a fool of himself. But he rights everything and trys hard to fix his problems. He's HUMAN( in one sense. lol). Which better defines a reachable superhero...

I can't resist saying this also. Have you ever noticed that...Robin is just plain stupid? Batman is incessantly wasting time saving his doofus apprentice.

I have plenty more if you're interested....Wow, this is good practice. I'm almost thankful you like Batman.

  5. Well, I suppose they're reachable in different ways: Spider-Man in that he makes mistakes and is more emotional, Batman in that he could realistically exist.

And yes, I agree that Robin is a complete dork, with the yellow tights and all. If Christopher Nolan puts him in the next Batman movie, I will not be happy.

  6. True, I guess it's a truce between them then...lol.

I've always thought it was so stupid that Batman blends into the shadows to confuse his enemies, and yet Robin stands there in is neon yellow cape and bright red and green outfit.

  7. Robin: "Holy 'loserness', Batman! [wrings hands] The Joker is coming! ...Batman?"

Batman: "Get down and hide, you fool!"

  9. >>>"Holy 'loserness', Batman!

In case you don't know, Robin always says "Holy [some random word]" when he is excited.

  10. Oh yeah, I've noticed that. lol Especially in the old 1960's movie. Ok, I'll agree that Batman has some cool aspects, some better than Spidey. And Spidey has some over Batman. But you'll never get me to admit that Robin is a real superhero. lol. I read a comic book about dc comics versus marvel comics, hoping they'd pair Spidey and Batman. They didn't unfortunately, but the woman who Robin fought...they were in love, and after they fought, and he beat her by tying her up, he knelt and said, "You Ok? Not to tight is it?"

    lol
